Goutweed Smoothie
Raw food and wild herb enthusiasts love goutweed as a flavorful addition to salads, soups, and even as a spinach substitute, as it has a taste similar to parsley. In spring, it’s perfect for smoothies or as a seasoning for vegetables. Also known as ground elder or goat’s foot, goutweed is rich in potassium, which helps with detoxification and flushing out uric acid, making it a common natural remedy for preventing bladder infections. It also contains copper, vitamin A, vitamin C, and iron, making it an excellent spring tonic, especially when combined with nettle to combat spring fatigue. Additionally, crushed goutweed leaves can soothe mosquito bites and sunburns when applied directly to the skin.
