Rose Syrup and Rose Drink

Rose Syrup

Roses are a visual treat, and their captivating fragrance is hard to resist. Wouldn’t it be amazing to capture the magic of the rose? You can—at least a little bit—by making your own rose syrup.

Rose Drink

In addition to their enchanting beauty, roses have remarkable healing properties, which have been utilized for thousands of years and are increasingly being studied. It’s now known that roses can boost metabolism and act as an effective natural weight loss aid. In a study with over 3,000 participants, daily calorie intake decreased by 1,000 kilocalories simply by inhaling rose fragrance. On average, overweight women lost 3 to 5 kilograms in three weeks. It’s believed that the scent of roses sends a satiety signal to the brain.

Ingredients

Rose Syrup

  • Half of a 3-liter jar of fragrant roses

  • 3 liters of water

  • 3.5 kg of sugar

  • 50 grams of citric acid

  • 3-liter jar

Rose Drink

  • 1 pomegranate

  • 15–20 fresh rose petals

  • ½ liter of water

  • 1 glass

Preparation

Rose Syrup

  1. Warm the water slightly and add the sugar, stirring until dissolved.

  2. Fill half of the 3-liter jar with fragrant roses.

  3. Add the sugar water and citric acid, filling the jar to the top.

  4. Leave the jar in the sun for a few days (max. 1 week), but don’t seal it tightly. It’s best to cover the jar with a saucer.

  5. After the time has passed, strain the liquid, pour it into bottles, and store in a dark, cool place.

Rose Drink

  1. Cut the pomegranate in half and juice it using a citrus press.

  2. Place the juice into a glass with the fresh rose petals.

  3. Blend everything together and add ½ liter of water.

  4. Drink 3 glasses a day, and for a restful sleep, drink one additional glass an hour before bed.

Shelf Life

  • Rose Syrup: Stored in a dark, cool place, it lasts for several months.

  • Rose Drink: Tastes best when fresh.

Usage

The fragrance of roses has a calming effect, strengthens the nervous system during stressful times, provides rejuvenating energy when fatigued, and improves moods. Rose oil also has one of the strongest antibacterial effects among all tested oils. It can eliminate the Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, the main cause of pimples, within just five minutes.
