Oregano – The All-Rounder
Oregano is not just a staple in Mediterranean cuisine—it’s also widely used in household applications and even in skincare. For dry, irritated, or itchy skin, you can make your own oregano-infused skin oil, which is particularly effective against rashes and insect bites. It can also be used as a base ingredient for homemade salves and creams.
Why is Oregano an All-Rounder?
Thanks to its intense aroma, oregano is also a valuable household helper. For example:
Repelling Moths: Place a herbal sachet filled with oregano or a piece of fabric with a few drops of oregano essential oil in your closet—moths will stay away.
Fighting Aphids Naturally: Oregano can be used as a natural pesticide. Simply pour 1 liter of boiling water over 100 g of oregano, let it steep for 15 minutes, and dilute it 3:1 before spraying it onto plants affected by scale insects.
