Golden Milk – A Mood Booster for Health and Well-being
During winter, when mood levels tend to drop, energy-boosting drinks are always welcome. Golden Milk is the perfect warming beverage for the colder months. This traditional Ayurvedic recipe provides comfort from within and promotes good mood and well-being.
Also known as “Turmeric Latte” or “Kurkuma Latte”, this drink is praised for its many health benefits. It is believed to help prevent diseases such as Alzheimer’s, rheumatism, and even cancer. Additionally, Golden Milk is said to have antioxidant properties, support liver function, aid with sleep disorders, and help with immune defense, digestion, and detoxification.
For centuries, Ayurvedic teachings have regarded Golden Milk as a healing, stimulating, and cleansing drink. Turmeric, also called yellow root, is highly valued in Indian and Chinese medicine for its versatile medicinal properties. When combined with ginger and cinnamon, it enhances its full health potential.
Ingredients (for one glass)
- 300 ml plant-based milk (or coconut milk)
- 1 fresh turmeric root (approx. 2 cm) or 1 tbsp organic turmeric powder
- 1 tsp honey or agave syrup
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 1 small piece fresh ginger (finely chopped)
- ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
- Optional: cinnamon and a bit of coconut oil
- 1 pinch freshly ground nutmeg
Preparation
- Blend all ingredients well in a mixer.
Shelf Life
- Freshly prepared and consumed immediately.
