A combination that drives many sun lovers to despair.<\/p><ol><li><p><strong>Basic Rules to Follow in Extreme Heat<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><ul><li><p>Avoid physical exertion<\/p><\/li><li><p>Seek shaded areas<\/p><\/li><li><p>Keep windows closed during the day \u2013 ventilate well in the morning and evening to &#8220;lock&#8221; the heat out<\/p><\/li><li><p>Eat light and drink at least two liters of water<\/p><\/li><\/ul><ol start=\"2\"><li><p><strong>Icy Drinks Are Not the Right Way<\/strong><br \/>Some people try to deal with the heat by drinking ice-cold beverages. It&#8217;s true that for a brief moment, you may feel cool and refreshed. But that moment is short-lived. Usually, it\u2019s followed by intense sweating, and the refreshing feeling is gone. Therefore, you should drink lukewarm water or, even better, herbal teas. It\u2019s no coincidence that people in southern countries drink tea on particularly hot days.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Tip: Refreshing Summer Drink \u2013 Mint Lemonade<\/strong><br \/><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p><\/li><\/ol><ul><li><p>Plenty of ice<\/p><\/li><li><p>Lemon slices<\/p><\/li><li><p>A little sugar<\/p><\/li><li><p>Fruit juice<\/p><\/li><li><p>Mineral water<\/p><\/li><li><p>Fresh mint leaves<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p>Mix some sugar with the mint leaves and lightly crush them to release their full aroma. Add the ice and lemon slices.<\/p><ol start=\"4\"><li><p><strong>The Cold Shower<\/strong><br \/>Similar to cold drinks, a cold shower can overwhelm the body\u2019s temperature regulation system. A cold shower may cause dizziness, a circulatory collapse, or headaches due to excessive strain. Showering is generally good in the summer, but you should shower moderately cool or lukewarm.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Cooling Compresses and Arm Showers<\/strong><br \/>Cooling compresses on the forearm or the classic arm shower have proven to be very effective. Again, be sure to use pleasantly cool water, not ice-cold water.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>The Right Clothing<\/strong><br \/>Clothing that fits snugly against the skin may be attractive, but it is counterproductive in the summer. You should opt for loose-fitting and, above all, light clothing. Natural fibers like linen and breathable fabrics are especially suitable. If your clothes are soaked with sweat, change them due to the risk of catching a cold. Going barefoot or wearing breathable shoes should be part of your daily routine now.<\/p><\/li><li><p><strong>Caution with Fans<\/strong><br \/>The gentle breeze from fans brings relief. But not everyone tolerates drafts.
